Important Note: Build 4.0, is a major new build offering many new and advanced features. It is almost like a new version, but is being offered under version 8.0 so that existing users of version 8.0 can upgrade to this new build without purchasing an upgrade. The terminal emulation features have been vastly enhanced. In some instances (User Defined Keys) the user interface has changed. Please check out this new build 4.0 as if you were checking out a new version of the software before deploying this new build widely.

Host Programming Interface. Build 4.0 allows you to enhance your Unix and AMOS applications by using a variety of new Windows Interface functions. These functions are broadly classified in the following categories.

DDE Client Interface. This interface allows you to pass information back & forth between your host application and Windows Applications (DDE Server). The complete range of DDE functions like DDEInitialize, DDEExecute, DDEPoke, DDERequest, DDEAdvise, DDEUnadvise, and DDETerminate are available to you to make full use of DDE conversations with Windows DDE Server applications.
PC File and Clipboard Interface. A variety of interface functions are now available to you to send (write) the host data to PC Files/Clipboard and receive(read) data from PC Files & Clipboard.
Advanced terminal emulation interface. A variety of specialized and advanced terminal features are available to your host applications even though the actual terminal may not offer them. These include, Save/Restore Rectangular Box/Area, Alternate Page, etc.
Miscellaneous functions interface. A variety of functions offering FTP file transfer interface, launching of Windows applications, etc. are also available.

Terminal Emulation of advance features in Wyse50, Wyse 60, Wyse 150 and Wyse 350 Terminals. Build 4.0 offers the following advance functions. Program function keys and other special keys, Send Cursor Line, Back Tab, Insert Mode support, Monitor Mode Support, Horizontal Split, Lower/Raise Horizontal Split Screen.

Terminal Emulation of advance features in Esprit III terminal. Build 4.0 offers the following advance functions. Program function keys and other special keys, Send Cursor Line, Back Tab, Insert Mode support, and Monitor Mode Support. You can also load a substitute character for the space character when executing Clear Screen commands.

Enhanced Printer Support. Build 4.0 now supports printers that do not support “raw” mode like HP 1000, etc.

Multiple sessions on start up. Build 4.0 would allow you to start multiple sessions on start up and let you Tile or Cascade these windows, automatically.

Individual window sizes for sessions in multiple processes. Build 4.0 saves the window position of the application under the configuration file name (.aln file). This would allow you to start multiple processes of the applications (using separate .aln files) and have individual window sizes and positions for each of these application processes (sessions).

Enhanced Rebar for UDK buttons. A number of changes have been made to the “Rebar” that shows 4 UDK buttons (and the address bar) as follows.

The button width adjusts automatically now, based on the length of the text on the buttons.
You can also choose to limit the text shown on the button to a specific number of characters without any need to re-enter the label text for each button.
The image shown on the buttons may now be hidden to save vertical screen space.
A menu item “Arrange Buttons” has been added to “refresh” positions of UDK bands and buttons.
The 4 UDK Bar bands will ‘maximize/minimize” on double clicking the mouse in the “level name” area of the band (instead of single click).
The order of the bands within the “Rebar” is now fixed. The first band is the “Address Bar” (if shown) followed by the four UDK bars (UDK1 to UDK4). If you move one band to another row, the bands shown after the band being moved would also move. For example, if you move UDK2 bar to the second row, then UDK3 and UDK4 bar would also move to the second row to keep the same (fixed) order. This avoids display confusion where bands were getting interchanged.
The UDK band headers that display the “level name” for the UDK bars will automatically adjust in width to accommodate full level name as typed.

Force Num Lock and Caps Lock keys: You can now setup the terminal emulator to force Num Lock, or Caps Lock, or both keys. This allows you to switch between your host application and windows applications without having to turn these keys on and off.

Fixed problems with AlphaWrite screens in all emulations including AM62A, AM65, etc.
Fixed problems with Status line attributes in field terminal emulations like AM62A/AM62C, Wyse 50, TelVideo 925/950, etc.
Added "Blank Display Attribute" support to field emulations including Wyse 50 emulation.
Top Status line addressing problem fixed for Wyse 50 emulation.
Added support for Send Cursor Line and Send Terminal ID Escape codes for Wyse 50 emulation.
Blink Attribute was not getting turned on sometimes in the field terminals like Wyse 50.
Sometimes, the left few columns of the top status lines were not getting displayed correctly.
Save/Restore area commands have been corrected to work for the last (24rth) line.
Added support for the "Insert mode" for Wyse 50 and Esprit III terminals.
Read Cursor Address command has been corrected for Wyse 50 emulation.
Some graphics characters were getting displayed in "dim" or reduced intensity. This has been fixed.
Support for drawing single graphics character has been added to Wyse 50 emulation.
Write Protect Attribute may now be selected in Wyse 50 emulation.
Overwiting of Attribute characters & shifting of write protected characters is now prevented, similar to the behaviour of an actual Wyse 50 terminal.
Added support for "Dim" attribute in Wyse 50 terminal emulation.
Function key label support has been added to Wyse 50 emulation.
A special facility has been added to display control characters (0xA0 to 0xFE) in Wyse 50 emulation.
Insert and Delete character commands have been fixed to work correctly in field terminal emulations like AM62A and Wyse 50.

Version: 8.0.3.1 - Released on 12/10/01

Function Key Codes for VT100 and ANSI emulation have been corrected.
Terminal Reset used to cause error when the session was disconnected.
Screen scrolling used to mess up sometimes, if parts of the screen were hidden. It has been corrected. The screens scroll faster now.
While connecting through modem, screen used to loose focus sometimes.
Phone Book was not setting the "waiting time before retry" correctly. It was also not waiting before retrying. Cancel button is now enabled during this wait. Main window was not getting disabled when a phone entry was selected from the Phone Book.
Hangup delay has been increased to disconnect older modems.
Standard Speaker has been added as a selection for the "Beep Type". This would allow the application to use the KB speaker for beeping.
Some graphics characters were getting displayed in reduced intensity. This problem has been fixed in Alpha Micro terminal emulations like AM62A, AM62C, AM65, etc. and in Wyse 50 emulation.
The default settings have been changed to enable "Local handling of Control C, Control Q and Control S". KB re-mapper is now disabled by default.
If the terminal session was stuck, closing the application used to lock up the application.
If the terminal session was immediately disconnected by the host (or otherwise), it used to display "Not connected to host. Would You like to connect" message unnecessarily while sending start up commands, if any.

Break Key (Control+Shift+B) support has been added.
Local Handling of Control C has been improved for high baud rate connections.
SHIFT+ESCAPE would now toggle in and out of the Full Screen Mode.
Switching between Browser session and terminal session used to lock up the system some times. Similar lock up would sometimes occur when switching in or out of Full screen mode.
Added two new options to set the "delay between the transmitted lines" and to "show characters received" during the ASCII File Transfer.
Serial connections used to lock up some times.
Added a new option to "recurse the directory in ASCII, Y-Modem and Z-Modem file transfers".
Fixed the problem with "number of retries for Z-Modem file transfer" not getting changed.
Cursor used to disappear sometimes after the file transfers.
A new option to "Disable unsafe disconnect" has been added in the safe screen tab. This will completely prevent users from exiting the application when it is unsafe to disconnect.
UDK bars were not getting displayed if the first button was not active and shown. Rubber band size has been adjusted to show UDK buttons completely.
Cancelling the Native File transfers (CPC/CALF) on Serial/Modem connections used to lock up the application. TCP/IP connections worked fine. Similarly, closing the application while the native file transfers were in progress used to cause problems.

A new option "Convert lower case letters to capital letters (A-Z)" has now been added under Settings, Keyboard tab.
"Paste" function was not copying the last set of data. This problem has been fixed.
The default RFC option for stripping incoming (receive) "Line Feed character" on Telnet sessions has been disabled. This used to eat up the Line feed characters for Telnet connections. If you are experiencing this problem due to an earlier build, please change this setting in Settings, Terminal, RFC.
Native file transfer commands are now working for Serial connections.

Sometimes, the application used to stop displaying the data on TCP/IP connections. Selecting "Terminal Reset" would clear up the locked status. This problem has been fixed.
AM62A and Wyse 50 terminal emulation was blanking out unnecessarily on certain commands. Resulting display was inaccurate.
Sometimes the box characters were not being drawn in the normal intensity. They were "Dim".
When the host is Unix, Native file transfer commands would now invoke the correct commands. However, please note that the cpc command requires the host side file name and may not be invoked from the menu.
If the emulator fails to connect to the host, it will now give you an option to "Retry", if you so like.

ClipBoard Copy and Paste are now working correctly on Serial/Modem connections. TCPIP connections worked fine.
Pressing Control+C would now stop the pasting operation.
Large amount of data may now be copied to the clipboard and pasted.
Function Keys/Alt Keys were sometimes not working on Serial/Modem connections. TCPIP connections worked fine.
Program used to lock up sometimes. Terminal Reset used to start the program again.
If you turned off the status line, it used to reappear when you exited the program and restarted it. Same thing used to happen when you put the program in full screen mode and then exited the full screen mode.

A new option "Disable Browser" has been added to Settings, Miscellaneous, General. This setting applies to all sessions.
A new option "Enable host disconnect message" has been added to Settings, Terminal, Connection. Un-check it to disable the disconnection message when you logoff from your host on a Telnet session.
A new option "Use Alt Key as Escape key" has been added to Settings, Keyboard, Miscellaneous. Un-check it to prevent ALT key, when pressed by itself, from acting as Escape key.
Exit Terminal message was un-necessarily displayed when user said "NO" to un-safe disconnect.
Resolved display problem with UDK check boxes under Settings, Keyboard, Miscellaneous tab.

A new option "Send ControlC on unsafe disconnect" has been added to Settings,Terminal, Safe Screen.
A new button "Fonts" have been added to change fonts on the tool bar.
Minor corrections to html help topics, tool tips, about box, etc.
UA-FTP will avoid unnecessary directory updates. It will update the directory only when you actually transfer file(s).
Missing Tool tips for a few tootl bar buttons on UA-FTP have been added.
